While the breathtaking beauty of the rivers, cattails and saw grass in our area is truly a sight to behold, one of the biggest attractions at our park is the abundant wildlife. If you want to get up close and personal with exotic animals in the Everglades, Sawgrass Recreation Park is the ideal venue. Our extensive reptile exhibit hosts numerous species of native wildlife and other cold-blooded creatures from around the world. You'll get to meet animals of the Everglades like turtles, iguanas and even a 1,200 pound American Alligator named Cannibal! Experienced and knowledgeable handlers are always present to demonstrate the habits and characteristics of these magnificent members of our local ecosystem.
When you join us for adventure in Sawgrass Recreation Park, you'll get much more than a thrilling airboat tour of our incredible marshlands. Each trip to our habitat also includes a meet-and-greet with the animals of the Everglades! A large menagerie lives right here on our grounds all year long, but each day even more wildlife is brought in with the help of our friends at Predators Unlimited. Their fuzzy, scaly and feathered associates include some of the most interesting and amazing wildlife to be found in the South Florida Everglades.
